From then on, his love of music lead him to other areas of music, namely singing in various groups with his friends in New Haven. Through the years, as his knowledge of music and performing grew various groups took notice, and he has spent time with well known groups such as the Velours, the Platters, the Blue Stars, the Five Sharps, and Mixed Company.

Charlie originally comes from the Ridgewood section located on the border line of Brooklyn/Queens, famous for being the home of the Fascinators, Five Discs, Encounters and the Fantastics. It was on the streets of this neighborhood where he developed his craft which enabled him to be a part of "Lost in the '50's" for a time, and after that to record and perform with the Wrenditions
