Howling Hound Dogs Acoustic Band from Hartford, CT

The Hounds are your band if you're looking for something really fun and different for your special event! Our hand clappin', toe tappin' and finger snappin' music entertains audiences from kids to seniors. We're an acoustic washboard band made up of three veteran performers who have played at festivals, parties, special occasions, libraries, town and corporate events and have appeared on TV and radio programs. Our goal is to always leave people smiling and happier than they were when we got there. We play swing standards, upbeat blues, classic country and jazz from the 20s, 30s and 40s as well as newer songs and funny originals in our unique washboard band style. We also have an all rock & roll show available. Our shows include ukulele, guitar, kazoo, harmonica, mandolin, banjo, washboard, and spoons. Where else can you hear a solo played on spoons? We always like to get our crowds singing and clapping along but if you wish we can provide an even more interactive show buy bringing along washboards and small percussion instruments so kids or adults can “jam with the Hounds.” We can even provide kazoos for an extra minimal fee. And if you're looking for a something special and different for children parties or schools/libraries we have a program where we teach kids how to play spoons, washboards, jugs and even paper bags! Some washboard/jug band history and American folk song tradition can also be included in this program.
