About Vendor

Back in 1992, siblings Mike and Liz Comeau combined their musical talent to form Key Elements, a 3 piece band covering all the favorite artists they were raised on. For 7 successful years, they played corporate events, decks, bars, and cruises up and down the NH/ME/MA Seacoast. But then … Yoko Ono came along and really riled everyone up … wait, that might be a different band I’m thinking of … ahem … I guess it was just “Life” that took over and somehow the band fell away, but Liz and Mike’s passion for music stayed strong. Fast forward to late fall 2016: Mike called Liz and said “Let’s get the band back together!” to which Liz replied, “What, are you crazy?” - and a knock-down-drag-out debate began. Long story short, Mike won that debate. By Summer 2017, Key Elements (2.0) was up and running: Mike on acoustic guitar and male lead vocals, Liz on flute, keys, harmonica and female lead vocals. They brought in drummer, John "The Machine" Spofford, and kick-ass bass player, Jeff "The Professor" Clark. They are still obsessed with nostalgic hits from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s … especially acoustic rock, upbeat dance tunes, one-hit wonders....songs that make you want to sing and dance and forget all your worries for a few hours. With tight harmonies, smokey flute solos and an engaging stage presence, they groove on groups like The Eagles, James Taylor, The Pretenders, Linda Rondstadt, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Buffett, Fleetwood Mac, Paul Simon, Tom Petty, Carole King, John Mellencamp, and many others. Key Elements truly connect with their audience, and engage them in ways like passing out hand percussion instruments for folks to play along. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! Remember a couple years back when a pandemic hit? (You may have noticed a headline or two about it). Welp ... that really put the kibosh on gigging out. When things DID start opening up, Mike and Liz formed a DUO to accommodate venues trying to dig out of the hole with lower budgets. They kept it going, so you get to choose between the duo or the 4 piece depending on your needs. Same great repertoire! So in closing ... if you're looking for a rowdy, loud, flashy, razzle-dazzle, hard rockin', boot stompin', top-o'-your-lungs, over-the-top band, then please STEP AWAY FROM THIS PROFILE. (Not that there's anything wrong with that - it's just not us. ) SO - WHY HIRE KEY ELEMENTS? -- Nostalgic favorites transport your audience to their happy place. (Think musical Calgon) -- Both male and female lead vocals with tight harmonies -- Personable and dynamic stage presence - we connect with the audience -- FLUTE - this gets people turning their heads with surprise and delight! -- KEYS add in layers of sounds - organ, piano, strings, steel drums, etc -- Hand percussion (we hand out some to the crowd and get them involved) -- harmonica sprinkled in -- VERSATILITY: We can provide a quiet groove OR we can get the crowd singin', rockin' and dancin'. We read the room and sync up to their vibe, baby! We’re available to play at public venues and private events in NH, Maine, Mass and the Arctic Circle.
