Tree Daddy Music Acoustic Band from Moorpark, CA

Allison Hawkins and her ‘True That’ band mates are currently booking events for multiple configurations (solo with piano, acoustic duo/trio, full band) in Ventura and LA county and the surrounding areas in Southern California. Genres are mainly Americana, Country, Rock and Blues/R&B, but we can tailor the configuration and setlist to our clients needs. What makes us unique is our strong use of harmony vocals when multiple singers are part of the chosen configuration. Allison also sings and plays keyboards, along with her partner Ted Mentry on guitar, for an all original ‘Concrete Country’ project called The Gene Butler Band. Check it out on iTunes, Spotify, etc.! Allison’s influences (and cover material selections) include Brandi Carlile, Sara Bareilles, Little Big Town, Adele, Norah Jones, Eva Cassidy, Martina McBride, Bonnie Raitt, Sarah McLachlan, Shawn Colvin, Sheryl Crow, Stevie Nicks, Amy Winehouse and many others. Allison co-founded Tree Daddy Productions with Ted Mentry and released their last all original project entitled “EP” which is available online. Allison and Ted also engage in recording projects in their recording studio, and work with other producers in the area. Allison’s past live music performance experience includes fronting several bands in Colorado and California. She has sharpened and expanded her vocal skills by performing in musical theatre, choirs, jazz vocal ensembles and a cappella groups. Allison brings her life-long devotion and passion for music to life every time she performs. In her own words “..performing music evokes passion and emotion in me like nothing else can. I’ve always been driven to express myself musically and have suffered from frustration and a sense of incompleteness when music was not part of my life.” Her forte is layering of vocal harmonies that create intricate, beautiful arrangements, especially when reinventing a cover tune. Allison has studied music on many levels. She studied music theory, ear training, sight singing, voice and string bass, while minoring in music at California State University. Her musical education also included private voice training and vocal performance classes as well as bass, guitar and piano lessons. Allison knows what is required to produce quality performances. Her career background includes working for talent agencies, concert promoters, an outdoor amphitheatre and recording studios. For example, she was hired during construction and helped organize the grand opening and launch of a large outdoor Amphitheatre in California.
