When Theresa was planning a party to introduce her family to her fiancé Vern's family she was a little nervous about how it would all go. She came up with a great idea, hire a magician to magically make the introductions smoother.
Theresa hired GigMasters member Magic Mike from California to smooth things over and this is how she describes the event.
"It was a party so my fiance's family and my family could finally meet, before the wedding, hoping at the wedding there would be less forced, "nice to meet you, so how do you know the bride" type of conversations. Like I expected everyone kind of went off in their little groups that were familiar to them right from the start. When Magic Mike started going around, people would come over to whatever table he was doing a trick at and come join in. So, it got everyone to mingle a bit more. My family loved him, and I heard so many compliments throughout the night. I would book him again for any party. He was very professional, well dressed, came early. He even made some playing cards with my fiance's and my face on them for certain tricks. I really think that the key to any great party is the entertainment, and this type of "strolling magic" was perfect for this type of party. I also liked it because it wasn't too showy, it was a more mature, laid back type of entertainment, so that everyone could do what they wanted, but they could also go see what the magician was doing without interrupting the entire room. Magic Mike, and the photographer were my best investments for the night."
Well said, Theresa!
What do you think? Would you plan entertainment for a "get to know you" party?
