Today’s guest post comes from Bump Smitten, a wonderful website for baby shower inspiration and ideas. Recently, Elizabeth from Bump Smitten had the opportunity to style a baby shower, and she stopped by to share all of the fabulous details. Take a look:
I was so excited when one of my friends approached me to help her design and style her best friend's baby shower. Actually, I was thrilled. I've been blogging about baby showers for a while now and I couldn't wait to actually apply all the info I have collected. The party style stemmed from the invitation design (available for free download here).
For the party decor, I was determined to make the paper mobiles created by Jordan Ferney from Oh Happy Day. Jordan used multicolored vellum, but since I didn't have easy access to lots of vellum -- I decided to go with cardstock paper from the Paper-Source. I then used the simple tutorial found on Project Wedding, and within minutes, I had cheap and colorful decorations. FYI... You'll need a sewing machine!! I also made a few pom poms to add some more yellow in the room - I definitely should have made more! You can find the easy-to-follow instructions on my site.
I also put together a small candy bar filled with yellow rock candy, lemonheads, jelly bellys, M&M's, yogurt covered pretzels and animal crackers.
There were favor bags, so the guests could leave with a small bag of goodies. The bags were decorated with yellow ribbon and labels (which are available to download on Bump Smitten).
All-in-all it was a wonderful baby shower and everyone had a lovely time. I was really pleased with how everything turned out, and am excited to style another baby shower someday soon. :)
