The first of our party favorites this week celebrates summer, surf and sand. This Surf’s Up Birthday Party from The Homespun Hostess is a great way to celebrate a birthday for the big Kahuna in your life. The bright blue, orange, green and white color combinations create a virbrant, energetic feel for this theme. Creative party favors ranged from scrumptious surfboard cookies to personalized beach towels and “cool shades.” The charming bottles of bubbles are also a very fun idea. Of course, if you wanted to take that thought one step further you could rent a bubble truck  for bubblemania! You can easily add an activity to this party by hiring an airbrush t-shirt artist so kids can create their own surfer threads.  Cowabunga dude!

Throwing parties for the adult man in your life can be challenging. Good thing there are sites out there like Spaceships and Laserbeams  that feature parties with “boyish charm.” Take a look at this man-approved Scotch & Chocolate- 40th Birthday Party. Now this is a party that even his friends would be happy to attend! Of course, if your guest of honor doesn’t like scotch you can make this theme work with a different liquor, or even beer. If you have plenty of food and an experienced bartender, you can’t fail with this great party idea.

Recently we wrote a blog post about the very trendy Sip and See baby shower theme. Naturally, when we saw this Milkaholic Sip & See featured on Half Baked, we had to share it! This black and white milk theme is an adorable way to welcome a new addition to the family. The desserts look delicious and the display is beautiful. A chocolate fountain would also make a great centerpiece for a dessert station.  With a moment this special and a theme this delightful, you may also want to hire an event photographer so you don’t miss any of the precious moments!
