We absolutely love Halloween, and so do our clients. We are lucky enough to hear about all sorts of creative parties our clients put together each year in honor of this ghoulish holiday. Today, we’re featuring one of those fabulous parties. GigMasters client, Johnny Ramirez, was kind enough to share his plans for this year’s Halloween blowout with us – and we just had to share.
For the past 5 years, Johnny and his wife have hosted an elaborate Halloween party for their family and friends. Each year their planning includes selecting a theme, booking entertainment and putting together a plentiful food and beverage selection for the guests to enjoy. Sounds like quite the party, right? Well, this year, Johnny is planning the biggest bash of all, and we’ve got all of the party details. Johnny’s annual party takes place at his home which includes a 2,000 square foot pool house that is accompanied by an additional 3,000 square feet of pool deck. Johnny and his wife decorate the entire space to make sure that it looks perfect for Halloween. Johnny’s wife has spent the last decade purchasing Halloween decor for their home. Their festive decorations include numerous 6 foot full size mummies, zombies, witches, spiders, and much more. Johnny commented, “the decorations are always a conversation starter.”
The Pool and Pool House
This year, the hosts are expecting over 150 guests for this private party. Guests are instructed to present their invitation at the door in order to gain entrance to the party. “I always enjoyed opening our home to family and friends but I believe after this year we will start to seek an alternate venue due to the size of the parties. Our number of friends seems to be growing at a rapid pace,” Johnny shared. This year, party-goers will be treated to a 80’s Throwback themed costume party. When asked how he selected this theme, Johnny explained, “The majority of my friends as well as myself all grew up in the 80’s, so I thought it would be fun to revisit the years of our youth and throw an 80’s Throwback Party.” Johnny is looking forward to celebrating with a wide variety of 80’s music. For the past 5 years he has utilized a DJ service for his party, but this year he wanted to change things up and go bigger in the entertainment department. So, he decided to hire a cover band.
Johnny turned to GigMasters when it came time for his cover band search. He found the perfect fit for his theme party when he hired 80’s cover band Detroit Steel (Austin, Texas). He let us know that the party playlist will include music ranging from "the groups that sported the Madonna, Flock of Seagulls, Duran Duran styles, to the oh so unforgettable heavy metal crews that rocked out like Ratt, Poison, Metallica, Bon Jovi and Whitesnake.”
Guests must be in costume in order to enter the party – that is a very important rule that Johnny makes sure is well known to everyone prior to the event. The party will include door prizes and a costume contest including awards for the “Most Creative” and “Best Costume.” He has also hired a videographer this year (a party first). Johnny knows that when planning a party of this magnitude, a videographer will help make sure that all of the fabulous costumes and fun times are preserved for years to come.
While guests enjoy the clever costumes, amazing live music and grand decorations that this party will offer, they can also indulge in extensive food offerings and a fully stocked open bar. Johnny and his wife have really thought of everything for their Halloween bash. We can’t wait to see pictures from this year's event!
