The Avalon Effect is a company that was founded in 2010 to help restore mind and body balance through light therapy; a trending form of treatment for a variety of conditions including stress reduction and skin rejuvenation. The Avalon Effects’ annual conference this year was held in Nashville, Tennessee at the Sheraton Music City Hotel. The four day conference included a Friday event that was full of southern charm to celebrate all of the fun, country music history in Nashville.
“This year we chose to bring "the south" to our attendees with Friday's Dixieland Delight Night!” said Natalie Haarlander, Vice President of Special Events at the Avalon Effect. The event was enjoyed by 225 conference attendees, staff members, speakers and local guests in their best country attire! Barrels of hay and lanterns were placed around the room to create a barn style feel. Mason jars with varying floral arrangements created the perfect centerpieces for each table! Cowboy hats and colorful bandanas were available for all the guests!
The menu consisted of true southern cuisine, accompanied by a bar stocked with beer, wine, and cider! Fried chicken, baked beans and corn bread were just a few of the yummy items to choose from. Of course sweet tea and peach cobbler were served to compliment the delicious food and southern atmosphere.
The remainder of the evening was full of music played by GigMasters member, country band Junction Creek (Shepherdsville, Kentucky). According to Natalie, “This band was high energy and brought country and classic rock to a new level!” The dance floor was full of guests dancing to the great music and following along to the line dances lead by a Wild Horse Saloon instructor!
The Avalon Summit really captured the essence of a country celebration when they decided to bring in a mechanical bull for some of their more daring guests to try! They even placed fence posts behind the bull for the authentic feel of a rodeo. The less daring guests enjoyed taking pictures with a life size horse statue and dressing up in the photo booth! Feather boas and other classic photo booth props were replaced with mustaches, wanted signs, and sheriff badges for this southern party!
The variety of activities available had the guests mingling and grooving all night! Natalie really did a wonderful job of bringing Nashville alive at the Sheraton Hotel. With a little help from Junction Creek, guests were able to experience the sounds of the south as well! Everyone had a wonderful time experiencing a little taste of what Nashville has to offer. The Avalon Summit conference overall was a sweet southern success!
