The National posted a cool article this week about all of the different musicians who will play some part in next week’s Royal Wedding (not hundreds, more like thousands) -- everyone from the band playing the processional to the female cymbal player who will be one of many in street parades surrounding the big day. Like many of the musicians on GigMasters, these are highly regarded/highly talented musicians who wear many hats, only one of them being a veil so to speak.
These musicians have played every imaginable type of event, including solemn military processions, and high-profile national state events. One thing they can agree on: rehearsing is key. “The route will be lined with around 600,000 people. Up to two billion will be watching on television. It's a very big gig.”
And maybe that’s all there is left so say about the Royal Wedding ... for now. No matter, what your role in an upcoming wedding be it bride, groom, or performer, if you’re perfecting a recipe, speech, dance move, song finale, dress hem, etc. – take this time to make it perfect. No matter whose wedding it is, it is a VERY big gig.
