Today’s special guest is Dawn from Not Just A Mommy- a fabulous entertaining, crafts and party design blog. Dawn always has fresh and creative entertaining ideas, and today she’s helping us kick-start Spring party planning with some great design inspiration.

Spring is finally here and nothing heralds its arrival like the first signs of tulips. You can find them in a gorgeous array of colors, inexpensively at grocery stores and florists. They are a hardy flower and can be used to create simple, yet stunning arrangements.

When I saw Little Debbie's Tulip Cakes at the grocery store, the wheels started turning. They make perfect tulip pops when mounted on a jumbo paper straw. I found my straws at Target but you can find them at online retailers like The Sugar Diva. I lined a new and clean flowerpot with foil and added chunks of brownies and chocolate cookies, topped with chocolate syrup. Group them as centerpieces and guests can help themselves.  A smaller pot makes a great individual setting.

A row of centerpieces make a beautiful display from Style Me Pretty. Martha Stewart's Tulip Egg Basket DIY makes a perfect hostess gift. The Elli Blog's free printable will have you making pretty flowers in no time. The perfect way to greet them at their seat and send them home with a smile; Project Wedding creates bulb favors that can be replanted for annual beauty. Pretty cupcake liners make even prettier candy cups from Zakka Life.

If you have cookie skills, make a garden batch of cookies like these from Glorious Treats.  She suggests a few places to get the cookie cutter and Fancy Flours has one too.

Don't forget to add entertainment to your spring celebration. Adding a band or soloist to an outdoor celebration would be the perfect finishing touch to your lovely spring event.
