Venue Spotlight: Burr Mansion

Chelsea Pellegrino

Imagine arriving at your event venue to see George Washington at the reception desk, or Samuel Adams strolling through the garden? What if you were told John Hancock and Dorothy Quincy booked the room across the hall for their wedding reception? If you visited the Burr Mansion during the American Revolution, these are just a few of the things you might have experienced. In 1790, Thaddeus Burr constructed the Burr Mansion, which quickly became a hub for social and cultural gatherings. Located in the historic Old Post Road district of Fairfield, Connecticut, the mansion still remains to be an ideal venue for occasions of all kinds.

Corporate functions, social gatherings and weddings all have a place at the Burr Mansion. Up to 95 guests can be comfortably seated for a dinner, and up to 125 guests can enjoy a standing party or buffet. During the warmer months, larger events can take place outside in the beautifully maintained gardens, complete with tents to provide protection from the elements.

The Burr Mansion's facilities do not come with an on-site event coordinator- this means you can take full advantage of planning the details of your event according to your vision. If party planning isn't your forte, team up with your favorite event planner! The full kitchen facilities are also ideal for outside catering companies to prep and serve the perfect menu for your get-together. Take pride in knowing your event was held in a venue that once hosted some of America's most important historical figures!
