Primrose Cottage, built in 1839, is the town’s oldest, permanent home, built by the city’s founder, Roswell King. According to their website, the cottage is listed on the National Registrar of Historic Places, but due to its private ownership, it is not subject to several of the restrictive regulations imposed on other historical properties. alt

Named Best of Weddings on The Knot for 2012, Primrose Cottage is a serene location for virtually any occasion.  Primrose has a full service design team that will transform any party at this historic location with your dreams guiding the way.  They also offer an exclusive, in house catering service,  to prepare top of the line cuisine to please every taste bud.

The home’s three levels provide ample space for various occasions and the double veranda creates the perfect location for capturing those special moments. Numerous sitting rooms offer perfect settings for intimate cocktail parties or small social gatherings. The Overlook Ballroom, the latest addition to the cottage, offers 2800 square feet of hardwood floors and breathtaking views of the natural beauty that Georgia has to offer.

Last, but certainly not least, the Garden Room is perfectly situated between the main house and the Overlook Ballroom. The windowed walls create an ascetically pleasing setting with minimal effort. French doors lead out into the courtyard where many couples choose to exchange their vows in front of their closest family and friends.
