Wedding Tradition: La Hora Loca

Looking for a fun wedding trend wrapped up in tradition? The Latin American La Hora Loca (literally, the crazy hour) may be the trend for you. La Hora Loca is a great transition between the more serious part of the reception (the toasts, the introductions and dinner) and the late night party that a lot of brides and grooms hope their wedding reception will become.

During La Hora Loca the bride and groom typically pass out noisemakers, masks, and other fun props. Guests can entertain the bride and groom with fun dances or skits, or the bride and groom can hire great variety entertainment such as stilt walkers, mariachi players, samba, salsa, flamenco or fire dancers, circus acts, and fire swallowers.

As you might imagine, alcohol also plays a big part in this crazy festival within a wedding. Typically, shots are served off a cart in the middle of the room.
