Born in Brazil, Anna Murakawa is a classical violinist who has studied in Europe, South America, and the USA. Highly experienced, Anna provides solo violin music, but is not limited to it. If you so desire duos, trios, quartets and chamber ensembles are available. With vastly classical, and great Bossa-Nova and Brazilian music repertoire, Anna can add a touch of Class & Elegance to your next special event!
Bio:
Born in Brazil, Anna began her studies in a social project in her hometown at the age 13. In 2006 she became a student of Paulo Paschoal and joined the Heliopolis Symphony.
Started having lessons with Emmanuele Baldini at the age of 17 and at the same year she joined the USP Chamber Orchestra (OCAM - Brazil).
Attended music festivals like Femusc (Santa Catarina), Music Festival of Prados (Minas Gerais), Femusica (Rio de Janeiro) and International Winter Festival of Brasilia. Held masterclasses with teachers such as Daniel Guedes, Jorge Risi, Yerko Tabilo, Renata Kubala, Tasmin Little, Richard Young, Jose Luis Garcia, Clara Takarabe, Charles Stegeman, Guerchfeld Marcello, Alessandro Borgomanero, Norberto Garcia, Peter Pas, Marcelo Jaff, Matthew Torpe, Leon Spier, Jos Aurelio Castillo, Evgenia-Maria Popova, Chain Taub, Shmuel Ashkenazy among others.
Has served as soloist since her debut in 2005 with the Festival of Prados Orchestra. In 2008 she was invited to join the Youth Orchestra of the Americas YOA, where she had the opportunity to travel around the world playing with distinct conductors and soloists. In the same year Anna was invited to join the class of the violinist Evgenia-Maria Popova in Bulgaria, studying with her for two years. Yet in Bulgaria Anna started having lessons with the David Oistrack's pupil Stoika Milanova.
To accept the invitation to under-graduaduate in Bulgaria, Anna appealed to the social project where she began her studies and requested help. Anna's intent of continuing her studies served as inspiration for the creation of a scholarship program which nowadays helps many Brazilians to improve themselves as musicians.
After her graduation in Bulgaria Anna was invited to join Andrs Cardene's class at Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh), where she received a Certificate in Advanced Studies in violin performance.
Anna is currently pursuing her Master's degree at the University of Louisville, under the orientation of Brittany MacWilliams.
