This was the perfect ambient music we were looking for for our office Christmas Party. We wanted to make sure the music didn't overwhelm the conversation while still providing nice tunes for our guests to listen to. We gave Monika free reign to play whatever Christmas music she wanted and her repertoire was quite impressive. All in all a great experience - would definitely recommend Monika and her group to anyone looking for some jazzy instrumental music!

Monika is a first rate performer. She played with her jazz trio in very crowed room. but she was so great that the music became part of the roar of the room. She plays the piano very well and the rest of the group is as comptente as she is. I would recommend her to any one who needs this type of background music. Many complements were made about the quality of the music and her selections for our party.

Monika was very pleasant, she and her band did a good job. However, there were so many moments of silence where she was supposed to be playing and wasn't that it made things a little akward. For example, she was not playing when the mother of the bride came down the aisle. She missed several cues throughout the evening. Also, during the reception, it was very akward when we entered and when we were cutting the cake... no music again.... just dead silent.
That was the only thing I was a little dissapointed with. Other than that, she did a good job.

My recommendation is to have a wedding planner or someone in charge of order. For this wedding, noone seemed to be in charge and while some people in the party sent me to the other end of the room to operate the CD player, others asked the band to play. While we're trying to please and accommodate, we can only follow one set of directions at a time - please be clear about what you'd like the musicians to do and have ONE person in charge.

We hired Monika Herzig to perform at our Wedding Reception on December 17, 2005 at the Indiana Memorial Union on the IU Campus. We also wanted a male vocalist and she recommended Everett Greene. Monika was very great to work with leading up to the wedding - she always responded to my needs and questions quickly. Our reception went perfectly - Monika was great and Everett was awesome! Our only disapointment was that we hadn't hired a videographer so the wonderful entertainment of the evening was not documented. If you are a bride/groom who would like to stray away from a DJ at your reception - I would highly recommend Monika. She and Everett provided the formality that we were looking for. They made our wedding very memorable and unique!
