Lezlie Webster, FSA Scot Bagpiper from Concord, NH

I have been a professional piper since 1973, competing internationally successfully. I was the first female piping judge in the US and judge at Highland Games and piping events, teach soloists and bands and perform at various events and functions. My repertoire includes both Irish and Scottish tunes and I like to find appropriate tunes for events..clan tunes, favourite hymns etc... My husband, Pipe Major Gordon Webster was piper to the Queen and Pipe Major of the Scots Guards. Our family has continued to keep our traditional music alive as both children are also now professional musicians. My son Campbell Webster is also available to play with me - one of the top pipers in the US and my daughter, Marielle, an outstanding fiddler. They also have formed a celtic group to play for weddings with a celtic theme. I can tune to a true Bflat to work with an organist or use an A chanter to play with orchestras. I also play smallpipes in key of A if a quieter instrument is needed indoors. I have played gigs all my life and take any request. Many years ago I started the Boston Police Pipe Band and the Gaelic Fire Brigade Pipe Band in Boston. In recent years I have been working with the NH Police Pipe Band and the NH Pipes and Drums as well as producing some top solo piping competitors. Although a female piper, I still wear a kilt and because I have played 54 years my repertoire is probably the most extensive of anyone.
