Half-Grass'd >>> is a modern string band that plays old-school Bluegrass, Country, Rock, Folk and Blues; "Americana." From Bill Monroe and the Stanley Brothers, to Johnny Cash and the Allman Brothers... we combine classic tunes, sweet harmonies and hot pickin' to create an exciting blend of acoustic music enjoyed by all. We have a very nice Bose PA system that is capable of providing great sound to small and large venues. We play at the volume level requested. DAVID CHALUPSKY: Banjo and Vocals; Dave has decades of experience playing all over northern California and the Northwest, including a stint with Sam Hill... he keeps us on track for the traditional bluegrass portion of the show, and likes to remind us that he has the loudest instrument. SCOTT CRONIN: Bass and Vocals; Scott is a native of eastern Oregon, and has been playing actively with several well-known bands, including Steve Bradley, Jim Mesi, Jon Koonce, and others... his bass playing is "solid as a rock," and he's our resident country crooner. JOHN KEYS: Dobro; for our safety (and yours), we don't let Mr. Keys sing... but he does "sing" that high and lonesome sound with his dobro! STEVAN ROGERS: Mandolin and Vocals; Stevan brings his years of experience, love of bluegrass music, and his lucky buddha belly to the band! A veteran of numerous groups and bluegrass festivals, Stevan has "the hang of it" on mandolin. JOHN STOCKS: Guitar, Harmonica and Vocals; John hails from Minnesota and brings with him his hot guitar stylings, and cold lutefisk recipe.
