Tara Linhardt Band Bluegrass Band from Hastings on Hudson, NY

I have been playing in a variety of assortments over the years and perform with hot bluegrass bands and swing bands as well as doing duets, trios of bluegrass or swing jazz instrumentation as well. I work with instrumentalists as well as vocalists so can put together just the right combination for many events and have also played music for contra dances and square dances working with callers. I have listened to and played many styles from old time, Irish, swing jazz, and bluegrass and have recently been adding some Latin music and Latin jazz and Nepali music from the Himalayas in sometimes as well. I come from rural Virginia and a solid bluegrass background, but have explored various styles and incorporated that sometimes directly and sometimes indirectly into my professional line ups and playing, but can still go back to my roots in straight bluegrass as well. I respect the traditional musics and also respect originality and creativity. I also feel that it is important for a band to fit the feel of the event and be polite and appropriate and fun.
