Richy got a start with the Delrays band playing r&b, blues and soul and worked with Rufus Thomas, Eddie Floyd, Bo Diddley, Little Johnny Taylor, Pigmeat Markum, Willy Hightower, Sammy Lawhorn and many more.Richy was also one of the founding members of the Cool Breeze blues and r&b band out of Atlanta which toured the east coast for years doing shows with Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Night Hawks,Average White Band, John Hammond, Roomful of Blues, Thunderbirds and more. Holding down the bottom is Burt Engelsman. Burt started playing bass when he was 18 and still plays the vintage 1965 Fender Jazz bass that he bought when he was 20. He moved to Macon, Georgia when he was 21, and lived there on and off for a couple years before becoming a founding member of Underground Railroad. For the next six years, Burt moved back and forth between Sarasota and Atlanta to play in a few different versions of an R&B band called Cool Breeze with Richy Kicklighter. He then moved back to Sarasota permanently in 1982 to join a jazz fusion band called Breakaway, followed soon after by The Greg Allman band as well as The Allman Brothers. Burt has played with locals bands in the Sarasota area including Eclipse, the Instigators, The Hurricane, Twinkle, and the Richy Kicklighter Group. The newest member on drums is Frankie Lombardie from the Dickie Betts band (formally of the Allman Bros.)Frankie has been touring the U.S. with Dickie Betts for the past few years and now makes his home in Sarasota Florida where he lives with his family and plays with the Tornadoes. Big T and The Tornadoes features Sidney James Wingfield on keyboards. Sidney is a 2002 Iowa Blues Hall of Fame inductee. Sid has recorded with Big Twist and The Mellow Fellows, Son Seals and The Kinsey Report. When it comes to the Blues Sid is as real as it gets. Big T features Tim Calandra on Vocals.Born in Brooklyn, New York, Tim spent his teenage years playing in numerous Rock N' Roll bands in an area of Long Island rich in musical talent. He worked as a crew member on the road for multiple bands in the late 70's, and was fortunate enough to work out of some of the finest concert venues in the North East before moving to Sarasota in 2004. After spending three years around the music scene in Sarasota, Tim decided it was time to hit the stage again.Big T says, "The passion for music, especially the Blues, has never left my soul.I take that passion with me to the stage. It's there I put my heart and soul into every lick I sing."
