Maine Bella Musica, in business since 2005, offers solo, duo, trio and quartet string ensembles which include combinations of violin, viola and cello. Laura and Sascha's musical partnership and friendship create the core of Maine Bella. Maine Bella doesn't play unless at least one of us is available so there is no outsourcing of musicians. We only add to this base. These additional musicians are hand selected, quality musician friends with whom we are proud and eager to play. We offer multiple musical styles based on musician availability and your needs. The Maine Bella Duo, however, is our best offering. Our experience, chemistry and musical exuberance are unmatched. We have 15 years of experience playing weddings and nothing but positive reviews to back that up. We genuinely enjoy making your day special. Our training is excellent. Laura is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and studied viola with the infamous James Dunham of the Cleveland Quartet. She has cowritten over 150 original songs with her husband Michael in the celtic tinged band "St. Huckleberry." She has studied a variety of fiddle styles on the violin and teaches Sligo Irish, Quebecois, and Old Time. She's also taught jazz. She writes her own pop arrangements and can do so for your wedding if needed. Laura is currently a teacher of over 55 students in the greater Bangor area and has sat Principal Viola of the Bangor Symphony since 2005. Sascha Zaburdaeva attended Moscow Gnessin's Music College, one of the most selective schools in Russia . During her studies she performed with such Moscow Orchestra as the Russian Youth Symphony, Youth Talents of Moscow, playing at the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Kremlin's Hall and other major halls. After graduation, Sascha moved to New York and continued her studies with Julliard teachers Masao Kawasaki and Itzhak Perlman. Ms. Zaburdaeva has a rich experience as soloist, chamber musician and currently sits as First Violinist at the Bangor Symphony Orchestra. Having multiple degrees in violin performance and pedagogy, she maintains a well-established teaching studio for students of all ages at RDL Strings in Bangor Maine. She is conductor of the Bangor Symphony Youth Orchestras and is a tireless advocate for spreading great music throughout the State of Maine.
