Pete Smyser played at our daughter’s wedding on July 14,2018. Pete was very professional and kept in constant communication with us to ensure that everything went as planned. We hired Pete to play background music for a very important client function in Philadelphia. He was very professional and quite talented. We were in a modern facility so decided to go with contemporary music rather than jazz but Pete can play it all. Pete was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! He was the perfect addition to our cocktail hour and created such a special atmosphere and vibe with his guitar playing. He was completely professional - he was on time, set up, and ready to go before any guests arrived. He played at a level that was audible amongst the noise and conversations during the cocktail hour, but at just the right volume level that it was not overpowering the crowd. Our guests came up to me continuously during the cocktail hour to compliment me on the music selection because his playing was that good! I would highly recommend Pete for any wedding, and I will definitely be using him again in the future!

Pete was excellent to work with. He was very professional and easy to stay in contact with during the whole process leading up to our wedding. We weren't able to hear Pete play live prior to the wedding but listened to all his music on his website and on the day of the wedding I think it exceeded our expectations. If you are unsure about hiring someone without meeting them first I would highly recommend going for it! Pete also played for our cocktail hour and although we did not get to hear much of it as the bride and groom, we heard from the guests that the music was the perfect volume and style for the cocktail hour.

Pete has an extensive playlist to choose from and if it's not on the list, I'm sure he can play it. He plays with understated elegance and grace, such a skilled musician, we were honored to have him play at our daughters wedding reception. On Pete's website, I was able to listen to his playing while reading his bio, and was delighted to find that he has several CD's available as well. Pete was amazing! From the very first e-mail correspondence, he was responsive, helpful, and thorough. He accommodated all requests and even made great suggestions. He learned a new song for the wedding and even met with the vocalists prior to the event to practice. The day of the wedding Pete was on-time and played beautifully. We had several guests compliment him to us at various points throughout the evening. I would enthusiastically recommend Pete to anyone who asked me!

I chose Pete over slightly less expensive guitarists because of the wide variety of songs available and his professionalism. He provided pre ceremony music, processional, recessional, and accompanied my friends for a song during the ceremony. We mostly stayed with jazz standards. Although if I could hire him for a different event, I'd absolutely request Spanish guitar songs - he has an impressive repertoire! Overall a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him.

We really loved having Pete be a part of our wedding day. From the start to finish - working with Pete was a great experience. He was always professional, listened to us about what we were looking for and about the music and songs we wanted, and was always so great at helping keep us on task in moving forward towards our big day (which was a big help since we were a little late about things). And the day of, everything was perfect and his music was exactly what we were looking for. And our guests repeatedly told us how wonderful Pete's playing was. He truly helped to make our special day perfect and we can't give him enough endorsement!
