Jacob Johnson, Guitar and Lute Classical Guitarist from The Colony, TX

I am a DFW-based classical guitarist and lutenist with over 25 years of performing experience in a wide variety of venues and disciplines. I perform regularly in solo recital as well as for corporate events, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, awards presentations, private house concerts, wine tastings, gallery parties, and events of all kinds. I have given an international solo concert tour, with concerts in Buena Vista and Denver, CO, for the Utah Guitar Society in Salt Lake City, UT, and for the Sacramento Guitar Society in El Dorado Hills, CA, and for the Lute Society of America LuteFest West in Victoria, British Columbia. I have performed at the Dallas Museum of Art, the Nasher Sculpture Center, and the Kimbell Art Museum, and I've been featured in local media and on High Plains Public Radio. In June of 2023, I released my debut album, "The Ghosts of Dawn". The album is composed of music that is evocative of the night sky, and it was awarded grants from several arts organizations. "The Ghosts of Dawn" features early 19th-century music recorded on an original Viennese guitar built in 1830 and a brand-new suite of music called "Astrolabe" which is dedicated to me, as well as music by Frank Zappa and a Scottish folk song. Instead, I like to get to know the unique needs for each client before the event. Then, on the day of the event, I pay close attention to the room and tailor my set list in the moment in order to more perfectly complement any gathering. In most cases, I can take requests (given at least 30 days notice). I perform on high-quality handmade instruments by J. Perfecto Rubio (San Antonio, TX), Marco Antonio Alfaro Jimenez (Paracho, Michoacan, MX), Mel Wong (San Francisco, CA), and a guitar built in 1830 by an unknown Viennese luthier. When amplification is necessary, I bring top-of-the-line equipment to ensure the best possible sound for each venue.
