The harp on its own adds elegance and beauty to any event, but with the right harpist, the beauty of the music becomes transcendent. I am that harpist. I have both a bachelor's and a master's degree in harp performance, so I am exceedingly well trained as a classical harpist. I have about ten years of experience playing at receptions, galas, and weddings, so I have learned how to manage unpredictable day-of challenges and have also built up a range of popular music selections that you and your guests will enjoy. For receptions and events, I typically play background music for cocktail hour, although having me continue to play through dinner is an excellent option as well. The harp is loud enough to be heard but will not overpower any conversation. If necessary, I can provide amplification. I enjoy playing a mix of light classical, jazz standards, and Disney music, however, I also take requests ahead of time, possibly for a fee. For wedding ceremonies, I typically play prelude music (background while the guests are sitting down), the processional (while the bridal party walks down the aisle), the recessional (as the bridal party walks back down the aisle), and a bit of postlude music (while the guests leave). Some favorite selections include A Thousand Years (Perri), Hallelujah (Cohen), Canon in D (Pachelbel), Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (Bach), and Ode to Joy (Beethoven). I will guide you through any questions you might have in the music selection process. I am Catholic, so I have an easy time following along with the complex structure of a Catholic wedding mass.
