BIO SUMMARY
1993-2001
- Began producing and DJing, in 1993 in Fairfield, Iowa
- Astro Raph was 15 when he ran away from home based on an intuition, to DJ and Produce in Boulder, Colorado in 1996.
- Appeared on a compilation in 1998 on the record label Freakie People as 'Yacob'
- Did a weekly 3 hour show on Amino internet radio which later became Gogaga for a couple of years.
- DJ'd quite a few clubs and raves as well as holding a residency at (legendary) Club Soma in Boulder, Colorado.
2001-2005
- Moved back to his home town Fairfield, Iowa
- DJ'd and taught electronic music production at the Beatbox (youth center).
- DJ'd many events, threw his own parties and (of course) was always producing. - Resident DJ in a club in Iowa City (Studio 13)
2005-2012
- Astro Raph moved to Maui, Hawaii.
- Joined 'Chilltown Maui' (DJ Crew)
- Started DJ duo 'The Ad.d. T.W.iN.s' with DJ Decka
- DJ'd every club on the island of Maui
- Got signed to Black Bridge Records and was featured on a release alongside Bassnectar - Got signed with Cold Busted Records for a remix of Gramatik's “Tearin' It Up”
- Voted 2nd place in local newspaper Maui Times Weekly's 'Best DJ Of The Year' award - Held down several DJ residencies while on Maui, some for 3-5 years
- Ran Maui's first successful DnB night at Ambrosia on Tuesdays for just over a year, which had many guest DJ's from around the world stop and play while passing through.
2012-2014
- Moved to Los Angeles
- Became friends with +Bias, and started a few groups together; 'Master Bassers', 'Sour Blues' and 'Business Hours'.
- Business Hours goes on tour, in 2013, in the LA area and afterwords gets signed to Electric Dangerous Records
- Sour Blues gets signed to Cold Busted and releases two singles
- Astro Raph gets signed to Gravitas Records with a release due April of 2014
- “We Believe” from the Album “Love Spells” charts for a few months on Beatport peaking at #16
- Moved back to Fairfield, Iowa for health and family reasons - Starts new collective in Fairfield called beatsNOTbullets
- Starts a youtube show and making music videos
- Starts a Patreon Account
- Astro continues to Produce and DJ
