About Vendor

Belle Weather Underground is what happens when people with old souls and young hearts come together to honor 5 generations of music. They want to be the score to your personal interactions - the small moments that become transcendent, the life shaking events that gain clarity. They could be your chance meeting in the rain, your play acting of dark impulses, your stumbling discoveries down the streets of ancient empires. They play rock & roll from the '60s through the early aughts and they play it like it's the only thing that matters, because, let's be honest, there's never been a better time for katharsis and escapism Here are a few of our musical influences: The Who, Pixies, Panic At The Disco, Tracy Chapman, Eagles, The Guess Who, Fleetwood Mac, CCR, the Beatles, Lou Reed, 10,000 Maniacs, John Mayer, Roy Orbison, Eric Clapton, the Lemonheads, 'Til Tuesday, Sheryl Crow, Matthew Sweet, Old 97s, Bob Dylan, and many, many more... The players are: Jim Greenfield - Lead Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, Harmonica and Lead/Back-Up Vocals Jim is a Washington, D.C. native and is the son of an award winning classical pianist - he grew up listening to Duke Ellington and Billie Holiday and loving jazz as much if not more than children's music. With the British Invasion of rock and roll, he shifted to playing in numerous rock and roll bands and over the years has perfected the art of playing electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin, harmonica and performing lead and back-up vocals. He is a singer songwriter - Jim has made and produced records, composed plays, and mentored numerous professional musicians. He has taught professional guitar, ukulele, and bass guitar lessons since 2004. He has a full schedule of private clients at his D.C. studio, as well as teaches at the prestigious Sheridan School in N.W. Washington, D.C. He lives a happy life with his lovely wife and 2 incredibly adorable cats. Greg Bonsignore - Lead Guitar, Bass, Lead/Back-Up Vocals Greg is a D.C. - based musician who plays experimental, indie, electronic, ambient, lo-fi, garage, acoustic, psych music, using guitar, bass, vocal, MiniMoog, Thor synth, Mellotror, iLectric Piano, iGrand Piano, DM1, FunkBox, and GarageBand. He likes to imagine his songs as soundtracks to movies that will never get made, or those that were abandoned, such as Jodorowsky's Dune, or Gilliam's The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. Lyrically his songs explore the collision between "advanced" societies and the natural world, the simulacrum and the authentic, and the certainty of youth and the nuance of maturity, as exemplified in Buddhism's universal law of impermanence. He imagines his audience to be people who turn to music to shake them from a predictable existence, those who appreciate that there are thousands of ways to achieve distortion, none of which involve pressing an effects pedal or turning an amplifier to full volume. Karen Orem - Lead and Back-Up Vocals Karen is a native Washingtonian who has been singing in bands dating back to her Virginia Tech coffee house days, and most recently was a Lead/Co-Vocalist in HardCover DC and Swing and a Hit Band - 2 classic rock bands in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. She studied voice under the direction of Katy Benko (twice winner of the International Voice Championship Award in Los Angeles). Her music influences span several decades and are most noteworthy: Glen Hansard, Led Zeppelin, Amy Winehouse, Pink Floyd, the Moody Blues, Cold Play, Fleetwood Mac, Cream, Fernando Ortego, Eagles, Pretenders, the Cranberries, Blink 182, Patsy Kline, the Hollies, Eva Cassidy, and many more! She is a small business owner in the metro area, working full-time in the healthcare industry, has 2 children and a beloved Siamese cat named Rosie...
