It is a great pleasure to write this review for "Smooth Gruv".The appealing sound of "Mister Magic" by Grover Washington, was the opening jazz groove played for my husbands Retirement Drive-By celebration. Our guest and neighbors were fascinated by the rich and resonant bass , the crisp, exact percussion, the sassy singing of Tammy the soloist and the mellow transitions from one tune to the next. The smooth jazzy music had the entire audience dancing and rocking on the sidewalks, excitingly waiting for the next piece. George was punctual, professional yet personally friendly to everyone. The overall performance , and experience with Smooth Gruv was PERFECT!
"Smooth Gruv" is a blend of instrumental smooth jazz and melodious R&B vocals coming together to produce a unique sound that is both soothing and captivating... "Music to relax your mind!" But, we can jam too and get you up and on the dance floor! With influences from R&B of the 70's up to today, funk, smooth jazz, pop, soft rock, contemporary Christian/gospel, and some of own unique originals, the music of “Smooth Gruv” captures a wide and varied audience. We enjoy making music together and believe you, as many others have already, will enjoy making us a part of your gathering.
"Smooth Gruv" has participated in events from the Washington DC Rock-n-Roll Marathon, to Jazz Mixers with Tilt-Entertainment, to local summer concert series performances, to participating in inspirational services in the District of Columbia/Maryland/Virginia area.
