Singer and band leader Denis Ducharme, like the core of this band, comes over from the popular Cherry Pickers. Lead singer Irene Marc toured Asia with the Cirque du Soleil's famed Alegria show, then came home to record much of the sound track for the Cirque's Alegria movie. Irene alone can sing in English, French, Yiddish, Arabic, Italian, Croatian, Serbian and Slovenian. With Denis and the rest of the band doing backups, the Fundamentals can create harmonies to get your party moving. Irene can belt rock and roll or break your heart with a ballad with equal finesse and Denis and the boys can take you through Suite Judy Blue Eyes or American Pie in ways that make the standards seem brand new. Over the years, the Fundamentals have performed alongside such names as Three Dog Night, Blue Rodeo, April Wine, Sass Jordan, Jimmie Vaughn, Jeff Healey, Ronnie Hawkins and the Philosopher Kings. They have become THE Montreal band for prestige events, including the weddings and parties of some of Canada's biggest celebrities. We can be Fundamentally clean or Fundamentally mean, soft or loud.
