Solo on the Yellow Brick Road - A Sir Elton John Tribute Celebration featuring Bill Vincent
An evening of Elton John music performed by lifetime Elton "protégé by proxy" Bill Vincent – an intimate and rocking show derived from Elton's solo piano/vocal shows throughout the years. Featuring anecdotes, humor, singalong opportunities and a musical evening filled with incredible hits, Bill takes the audience through a journey down Elton's 40+ year career in a fun and interactive way that will leave audiences feeling like they not only got to hear, but participate in a fun and personal evening of Elton's music.
If you are looking for the perfect entertainment for a corporate or personal event that presents an incredibly fun evening of great music, costumes and singalongs to the soundtrack of our lives, Bill's show will both rock and entertain. Designed to be both family-friendly and interactive with the audience, it couldn't be more perfect for your company or personal event, presenting a side of Elton that isn't usually showcased in other Elton (or other) tribute acts - a solo show that absolutely rocks the audience with nothing but a piano keyboard and a voice. With a set of songs that combine Elton's rock and his softer side through the years, audiences of almost every generation will find an Elton tune they connect with personally and enjoy, delivered in a way that invites them to sing along and be a part of the fun - because there's a little bit of Elton's music in all of us.
About Bill:
Bill learned to play piano at 12, became a DJ at 14, toured the country playing and singing with a national touring company at 18, and has been playing professionally ever since. His piano skills were really a direct result of learning Elton's music through a combination of music reading and ear training, having received a huge book of Elton's hits for his thirteenth birthday. Since then Elton's style and music really became part of Bill's musical DNA - and with this Elton tribute show, Bill is returning to his musical roots and giving back to audiences what he has been able to gain from learning and playing Elton's music through the years. Bill's show is not so much rooted in recreating Elton's persona, but more rooted in paying homage to Elton from a fan who was so moved by Elton's music that it became a part of his life and career, and set him on a path of music and entertainment that has continued to this day. His story oddly reflects Elton's in many ways, and through anecdotes and humor and love for both Elton's music and Elton's efforts to make the world a better place to be, Bill shares a little of his story as well as Elton's stories as he weaves through the legacy of musical hits that Elton has given all of us.
From Bill: "My first experience in seeing Elton John live was a performance where the entire show featured Elton on solo piano. And while I was almost disappointed beforehand that his band wasn't a part of the performance, I ended up leaving after the show knowing I had seen one of the very best performances of my entire life. With "Solo on the Yellow Brick Road" I want to share with audiences that same feeling I had - the incredible intimate and emotional experience that I had when I originally saw Elton in this way. No show before or since has been able to compare to that fantastic performance - and my performance career has culminated in being able to recreate some of that pure, simple magic of a solo instrumentalist/vocalist performance of Elton's music for audiences."
