The Land of Deborah Acoustic Guitarist from Vancouver, BC

The Land of Deborah is an award-winning singer-songwriter with a unique take on life, love and the pursuit of fair trade chocolate. She has been described in the Georgia Straight as "feel good folk-pop" and in 24Hours as having "...one of the smoothest voices in the city". Originally from England, Deborah is now based in Vancouver, BC. She plays acoustic guitar and piano under her silky vocals, performing mainly original songs as well as a healthy sprinkling of covers with a unique twist. She can also provide additional instrumentation with members of her band. Her laid-back, chilled vibe is like the coffee shop scene of the 70s and 90s. She sounds like Sarah McLachlan, Sara Barielles, Carole King and Tracy Chapman. Depending on the event she can provide background entertainment all the way to full-on audience participation! Deborah's music has been heard on various shows across the Oprah Winfrey OWN Network as well as numerous independent movies. She has been nominated for and won several awards for her scoring work as well as her songwriting. During 2016 and into this year has been an epic festival run for a short film she scored recently called "Chaos Management", where she won BEST MUSICAL SCORE. TV appearances include "Music Night at The Cannery" and "On Da Grine TV". Deborah has released multiple CDs with her latest, "Little Stories", coming out this summer. Her music is available on iTunes, AppleMusic, CDBaby, Spotify etc. She is at home performing to a wide range of audiences, carefully crafting her program material to each occasion. She is an experienced MC and performs regularly around the Lower Mainland at restaurants, clubs, outdoor events and festivals. She often features at many city summer events for New Westminster, Burnaby, Kerrisdale, and Kitsilano including the Harmony Arts Festival in West Vancouver, Art in the Garden in North Vancouver and the Kitsilano Showboat in Vancouver. Deborah is happy to accommodate requests for specific songs for an event with appropriate notice to prepare. Weddings, funerals, anniversaries, special events etc. Please ask for details.
