I am a high school teacher who has been working with students for more than 30 years. Typically, at the end of each of my classes on Fridays
I will play a song for them. I provide the lyrics for my songs
to the students in case they would like to sing along with me, or just read the correct lyrics for the songs. The response of the students is
almost always very enthusiastic. They always want me to play additional songs etc. I have used my music as an incentive for my students to behave well, telling them that "If you behave yourselves this week, I will play a song for you on Friday." This technique has helped me enormously with class control. I am very adept at playing the guitar, and the harmonica (which I can do simultaneously),and I am an extremely good singer as well. Many of my students have told me that they love my voice. I can play a wide variety of types of songs, including some spanish music.
