About Vendor

With playing described as "elegant and flawless" by Soundboard Magazine (2007), Justin Zamm received his B.M. and M.M. (Master of Music) degrees and Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music as a student of Nicholas Goluses and Paul O'Dette. He won first-prize at both the 2005 D'Addario Classical Guitar Competition in Ithaca, NY and the 2007 Rosario International Guitar Competition in Akron, OH. Recent performances have brought him from his home of Norwalk, CT to Buffalo, London, Rochester, Clarksdale, and the World Youth Congress in Quebec City, Canada. He served on the faculty of the 2008 Eastern U.S. Music Camp in Colgate, NY as director of the EUSMC Guitar Ensemble and EUSMC Contemporary Rock Ensemble. In 2009, Zamm put aside full-time performance and his own private studio to join Teach for America, a highly selective national non-profit dedicated to eliminating educational inequality in our country. As a TFA corps member from 2009-2012, Zamm helmed a fledgling public school strings program teaching violin, guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, and recorder to K-5th grade students in the Mississippi Delta. His work and innovative approach to the integrating pop music with a traditional music curriculum were documented in the 2011 documentary "A Joyous Racket," produced by Barefoot Workshops. He plays a guitar from 2001 by Olivier Fanton d'Andon. Mr. Zamm has performed at countless weddings, private parties, charity events, fundraisers, and corporate parties and is happy to work with clients to select just the right music for their special occasion.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on February 15, 2009From Honeoye Falls, NY

Justin was very professional in his manner when scheduling this event. I had such a good feeling from our conversations that I just knew I could count on him. He surpassed my expectations! He quietly and politely set up his equipment. He beautifully played the guitar. The music he chose was perfect. He was pleasant in his demeanor. His guitar music truly set the tone for this event to be very very special...and indeed it was. I would most definitely recommend Justin. He is a talented musician. I was proud to have him play for my party. Thank you Justin!
