I can’t say enough about what a pleasure it was to work with Evan. As a businessman he is the consummate pro - flawlessly prompt and responsive. As a musician, he’s a terrific talent and showman. Evan and Fleur-de-Three made our rehearsal dinner!
While our city and much of the world remains under emergency health restrictions, high-quality acoustic music anchored in the traditions of New Orleans remains the specialty of Clarinet Road. In fact, the global health crisis has made my duo with David Torkanowsky and my trio with Don Vappie, more ideal than ever for intimate events as well as virtual services. These musicians are nothing less than living legends in the Crescent City music scene, and collaborating with them is an honor.
Live, in-person music is possible, but only within very specific conditions. Generally, local performances in New Orleans remain tenuous and touring is still off the table. So, out of necessity, we have invested considerable resources into our professional live-streaming infrastructure. We are proud of the audio and video quality we are able to offer.
Here are some details for our virtual services:
* We deliver live New Orleans music with professional audio quality and 30fps video at 1080p.
* Live broadcast is possible using Facebook Live or YouTube and can also link to Zoom or Microsoft Stream.
* Hosting or embedding video of our performance on websites is also possible.
* Branding for events can be added as graphic elements to the video or using virtual backgrounds.
* We require one test at least 48 hours before the event

Read on for our group's profile description. Clarinetist Evan Christopher's acoustic trio presents classic New Orleans music and romantic standards with luminous elegance for dignified occasions. Devoid of clichés, caricatures, costumes or histrionics, Fleur-de-Three's A-List professionals light up rooms of all sizes with earthy elan and joie-de-vivre.
FROM THE ARTIST: Like the New Orleans social dance music that evolved into Jazz, the Fleur-de-Lis symbol also had complex origins to transcend. Today, both are emblematic of an old-world eminence towards which "Fleur-de-Three" aspires. The trio's core instrumentation of clarinet, bass and guitar is most effective in intimate settings, when one wants guests to feel the warm welcome that traditional New Orleans music offers. This is our specialty and within our extensive repertoire, requests are not only welcome but encouraged.
We relish opportunities to make the special moments of any occasion more meaningful and memorable, such as receptions, dinners, ceremonies, or special dances. The trio can be scaled back to a duo for very small events, but can also be expanded to a quartet or quintet. Additions can include, trumpet, piano, drums or even a vocalist. Small, portable P.A. system is available, but we always retain a tasteful, acoustic aesthetic. Audio/Video samples reflect several combinations that all share the earthy elegance that distinguishes Fleur-de-Three from most other "Jazz" bands.
ARTIST BIO: Anchored in the musical vocabulary created by early Creole clarinetists such as Sidney Bechet, Omer Simeon, and Barney Bigard, Evan Christopher celebrates the legacy of the New Orleans clarinet style. Charismatic and versatile, he was drawn to New Orleans from his native California in 1994 by the rich cultural landscape. Critics remarking on his expressiveness and intimate approach have coined his style "close-encounter music" (NEW YORK TIMES) and have called his respect for the music traditions of New Orleans, "a triumph, joining the present seamlessly to a glorious past." (THE OBSERVER, UK).
