Jim Porcella Jazz Band from Worcester, MA

JIM PORCELLA Jim Porcella has made his full-time living in music all his life. From Swing to the American songbook and jazz to the music of New Orleans Jim delivers a high level of professionalism. He performs a one-man show to a nine-piece horn band depending on the client's needs. Jim is available for concerts, weddings, nightclubs, dances, anniversaries, and birthday parties. Jim grew up in Medford, MA, and started playing drums at the age of fourteen. While attending The Berklee School of Music in Boston he began performing around the New England area. Jim began a jazz vocal career and has recorded seven critically acclaimed CDs, and performed in jazz and cabaret settings in the Northeast, London, San Francisco, The Virgin Islands, and Vancouver. He was also the featured vocalist at Boston's Ritz Carlton and Boston's prestigious Bay Tower Room. Jim has been the featured vocalist with the Artie Shaw Orchestra, and also is the leader of the swing band "Bombay Jim and the Swinging Sapphires".He performed as the lead vocalist with the group Primavera!, a tribute show to the music of Louis Prima and Keely Smith. For several years he traveled the country with the show "The 3 Swingin Tenors" and presently performs a show with his daughter Renee Legendre called "Just the Two of Us" and is the lead vocalist with "GUMBO" presenting the music of New Orleans. Jim is available for club, concert, restaurant, and function work in solo and ensemble presentations.
