We had a 1920s themed fundraiser and Marc Rosen and Digital Harmonies were perfect for our event! They were professional, accommodating and complimented our event. They let us use their sound system for announcements. They even worked with the dancers from Fred Astaire Dance Lessons and played music that worked for them. Everyone was very pleased, and we couldn't have asked for anything else!
Real jazz, played right! Playing the music of Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, and other great jazz musicians from last century and this one, along with music from the Great American Songbook. The sweet, swinging sounds of the clarinet, or the powerful saxophone will bring a sophisticated, subtle and swinging atmosphere to any setting. From a duo with piano and clarinet, or a trio, adding bass, or a quartet which includes a drummer, we can add sonic sophistication to any type of event from a dinner, to a wedding, to a picnic, to whatever you're having. We are professional musicians who keep in mind that we're playing for your event, so we strive to make sure you get what you are looking for in jazz musical enjoyment.
Another format available is the the Kinda Cool Quintet-The Kinda Cool Quintet plays music in the style of the “Cool School”, a style of post-war jazz in the United States that had more complex arrangements, a lighter approach, and was more melodic than the fiery be-bop that was happening at the time. The baritone sax player Gerry Mulligan, trumpeters Chet Baker and Miles Davis, pianist Dave Brubeck and alto sax player Paul Desmond are some of the well known musicians who played in the style. Mulligan was an outstanding baritone sax player, composer and arranger who helped make the style famous. This band is ideal for concert types of events, where folks are interested in listening to this sophisticated, tightly arranged style of jazz. This is not typical of the jazz styles played most frequently today!
