Nick Stahl & Lucas Longaresi Jazz Duo from Altadena, CA

Formed at the California Institute of the Arts, saxophonist Nick Stahl and guitarist Lucas Longaresi are a Los Angeles based duo specializing in jazz standards, as well as Brazilian, contemporary, and original music. They strive to create a creative, intimate, and accessible musical environment ideal for any setting. Lucas Longaresi recorded and performed with Brazilian jazz singer and composer Bibi Cavalcante in 2016, focusing on jazz and Brazilian standards. Lucas has also recorded with the drummer Alexandre Damasceno (Brazil), bassist Peter Nitsch (Germany) and singer Natalia Spadini (Brazil). Lucas released his first four track independent EP in 2016, titled “A Oferenda”, with only original compositions. He has also had the honor to work with the Latin Grammy winner Alexandre Fontanetti (Brazil). In 2019, Lucas Longaresi was featured on two tracks on the 30th annual CalArts Jazz CD, recorded at Capitol Studios. Nick Stahl is a saxophonist, composer, and educator. He has had the privilege of recording at Capitol Records for the 2017, 2018, and 2019 CalArts Jazz CDs, the latest of which features one of his own compositions. Nick has also recorded at Kingsize Soundlabs, and at MANT studios for Rob Schnapf. In late June of 2019, Nick was brought to Treiste, Italy, along with seven other musicians from around the world as part of the third meeting of the Global Music Education League, hosted by the Conservatorio di Musica “Giuseppe Tartini.” There they performed at the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA), utilizing the groundbreaking LOLA system, a low latency audio/video technology, to perform in real time with a clarinetist in Vienna, Austria, 300 miles away.
