About
Welcome to my page! And thank you for considering me for your upcoming event. Amongst film composers, it is often said that a great score is recognized by its ability to fly just below the radar: it provides the scene with an undercurrent that is absolutely essential, yet non-intrusive. I approach the stage -- any stage -- with that same sensibility, only in real time. It means knowing when to play what, and how; when to "liven things up" a bit and when to step back. The effect is subtle, yet profound. And it can make all the difference between a soothing ambiance that's both classy and refined -- to mere background noise.

Ido Waksman
-----------
By the age of eighteen, stage-veteran Ido (pronounced 'ee-doe') Waksman had played keyboards and piano during two major tours across Europe and the US, as well as on countless recordings, live shows, and network television broadcasts. His sensitive, soulful playing was heard in such venues as Copenhagen's Tivoli Gardens and Nancy's 'Zenith' -- France's largest arena. Blessed with an exceptional ear and insatiable zest for learning, the Israeli-born musician had mastered a musical vocabulary few of his peers possess. He seamlessly glides from piece to piece, genre to genre; imbuing a sense of class and atmosphere the ordinary lounge pianist would be hard-pressed to provide.

Highly respected by some of the most prominent names in the music industry, Ido has been touted as an "Extraordinary Performer..." by Richard Evans (Grammy Award winning producer: Natalie Cole, Tower of Power);

"Excellent Piano Player..." by Wayne Naus (RCA recording artist: Mel Torme, Ella Fitzgerald); and --

"Fresh, imaginative, and outstanding!" by Dennis Grillo (arranger: Stan Kenton, Judy Garland)

Ido is an honor graduate of Berklee College of Music, and USC's Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television graduate program, where he won the prestigious BMI Award and Scolarship.
