Peter Brown Jazz Pianist from Carleton Place, ON

Peter Brown has become a legendary keyboard player in the Ottawa valley thanks to his dazzling and soulful chops and to 25 years of playing jazz, blues and pop. He has been a member of the wellknown zydeco/cajun band Mumbo Jumbo Voodoo Combo for 12 years and has had his own piano jazz trio for the past six years. He has played and toured with such greats as Mick Taylor (former Rolling Stone), Dutch Mason, Rick Fines, Jack DeKeyser, AC Reed and Sherman Robertson. He has played the Ottawa Jazz Festival each of the last six years and the Ottawa Bluesfest each of the past 11 years. along with numerous other festivals around Canada and into the USA. Peter has recorded profusely with other artists and has released two of his own piano CDs: * Marie-claude released in late 2002 to critical acclaim; described in the Ottawa Citizen as showing "obvious enthusiasm, great virtuosity and an honest and practised feel for the music"; * Franklin Street, released at the end of May, 2008 and described in his hometown paper, the Weekender as "a masterful work that bothshowcases and profiles the incredible talent that is Peter Brown. Musically, the collection is jazz in nature but features a full range of styles and influences that speak of the blues, showtime and class."
