Andy Statler of Blue Dot played solo piano for a birthday brunch that we held last weekend. He had gone to the trouble of learning opera pieces as a special request, since the person celebrating her birthday was an opera lover. All of his playing was wonderful, and he was a delight to work with both before and during the event. We highly recommend Andy and his group.

We hired Blue Dot Jazz Troupe for our wedding and the band is extremely talented. They have a vast knowledge of styles of jazz, a great song bank, and understood our style and requests. The band played music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and a portion of the reception. They played everything from "La Vie en Rose" to Stevie Wonder and we even did a second line!
Andy and the band are so professional. They worked very well with our DJ and also a friend of mine who sang at the wedding. So accommodating, excellent musicians, professional, and fun! One of the easiest vendors we worked with and made a huge impact on our event! Will hire again!

We loved having Blue Dot jazz Troupe provide entertainment at our private house party. The troupe was configured just perfectly to ensure that the sound fit with the size and scale of the house. The repertoire was on point and the delivery was masterful. Our guests loved to lounge, listen and dance to the beautiful vocals and instrumentals of the familiar favorite songs. Blue Dot Jazz played for my 30th birthday party.The were a complete hit with the crowd. Playing all great tunes to match the vibe of the party. Prior to the event the band was very punctual with communication and very accommodating with the arrangements. They arrived on time and delivered a great performance. I would be happy to choose them again for any event, as well as recommend them to friends.

Blue Dot Jazz Troupe was AMAZING. Andy and his crew made our rehearsal event over the top great! Not just our guests but the event space staff absolutely loved their music and the fun it generated for all!! I will actively recommend the group to everyone. If you want your event large or small to be a hit and the best time ever, then this is your group. I found them by chance online and can't believe how perfect it all worked out!! The guys are professional and fun!! DC has a gem.

Blue Dot Jazz, especially Andy, were phenomenal - from prompt communication, transparency in pricing, and professionalism in their service. We decided very early on in our wedding planning that we wanted a live band and were so glad we found Blue Dot. I was a bit apprehensive about not having a DJ for our reception for all our grand entrances, etc, but they reassured me through their past experience, and it turned out so much better than I would have ever imagined! So if you're looking to hire a jazz band, Blue Dot is it, and if you're in between about hiring a DJ vs. a band, Blue Dot will also delivery 100%!

We had a fundraiser for a nonprofit on the roof of a building. Andy and the band arrived exactly on time, we're practically silent with their set up, and asked if we had any requests. They played almost nonstop and had everyone glued to the stage area. They were kind and so appreciative that we recruited them to play. Hummm..., how do I describe such a professional and talented group of men? Honestly, I am speechless when it comes to words for their professionalism. Especially Andy. This guy, I had no idea who he was; however, he was very honest, professional and extremely responsive the entire time during the planning. He and the group are very timely and orderly. Of the many moving parts in my wedding, Andy and the band was the last things I had to worry about. I knew I could trust him and the group to deliever. And they did beyond expectation. Not only for me, but also for my guest. There are not enough characters in this box to express the greatness of BDJT. They were AWESOME!

I was highly impressed with the Blue Dot Jazz Troupe. There were a number of tricky hurdles we had to navigate with our event and the bandleader was incredibly accommodating and flexible. They are easy to work with and the music was fantastic! A fun and engaging selection of showtunes and recognizable jazz favorites. They even took requests! And towards the end we had a number of our guests dancing! I look forward to hiring them again.

Really super evening with the Blue Dot Jazz Troupe performing for our Holiday Gala. They clearly hit the right mood, as guests were drawn to the music from the get go. And their volume was perfect - allowing people to easily carry on conversations without having to shout over the music. Great vibes throughout and the three young men couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. We plan on having this engaging band back again next year!
