Frances and her trio were simply amazing . We highly recommend them for any type of event and will hire them again as soon as possible.
Frances' songs are interesting, sensual and enticing – a blend of Mediterranean Pop and Latin jazz in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese driven by creative and infectious grooves. The ensemble always features an eclectic mix of some of the best jazz musicians from L.A. and their music performances express a rich atmosphere of cultural diversity – loved by both jazz enthusiasts and those who never considered themselves jazz fans!
Frances sings the beautiful Bossa Nova songbook: Many compositions by the Brazilian composer Antônio Carlos Jobim - as well as popular chansons in French, jazz in Spanish and Portuguese. Their repertoire ranges from soft ballads to high energy Bossa Nova and world jazz songs. Whether as a duo or quintet, they bring out the colours of these meanwhile classical tunes of the 1940's and 60's by arranging them in a contemporary Latin-jazz style.
Never losing touch with the intentions of the original tune, their sophisticated interpretation of standards like 'Corcovado' or 'The Girl From Ipanema' (being some of the most well known songs), perfectly capture the mood of the time, infused with an easy-going, contemplative and seductive Lounge-jazz feeling.
This music is so rich in options, in sound and performance, that this ensemble is ideal for any concert setting: Depending on your venue and event, YOU decide on the number of musicians you would like to book. Frances Livings Ipanema Lounge can be booked as:
– a duo (voice and guitar) for smaller intimate settings - also if you are working with a limited budget
– a trio (voice, guitar or piano and bass) for medium sized venues
– a five piece ensemble (voice, guitar, bass, percussion, saxophone or piano) plus other musicians/instruments, like bandoneon
"The Ipanema Lounge project gives you the sweet sounds of Brazilian music that are sure to please."
