Mack is a native of Charlotte, NC, but became a Latin percussionist after spending a number of years in Tampa under the tutelege of Meinl Latin Percussionist Gil "El Nino" Garcia. During that time Mack performed with some of the best jazz and Latin musicians in North America, and a variety of bands throughout the Tampa Bay area. Music has been a part of Mack’s life from his earliest years. Mack’s family includes several professional acoustic musicians who still perform at festivals and competitions. Returning to his native state in 2004, Mack currently does "teaching performances" for local schools and contracts with different bands in the areas. Mack, John Lopez, and Michael Bondra created the Mack Attack in 2005. Mack plays congas, bongos, timbales, and Latin hand percussion. Trained in Latin jazz, he has expanded his repetoire to include pop, funk, blues, and traditional Latin rhythms.
