A: I have been leading ensembles and performing at events for the past 20 years. I have led 100s of performances over the years, including performing at President Bill Clinton's Inaugural Gala and opening for legendary Motown artists The Spinners. Q: What types of ensembles can you provide? A: Using the same group of musicians we can perform classical pieces for ceremony music, jazz for cocktail and dinner music, and R&B/Funk for dance music. Rather than hiring separate groups for each part of your event, you save money by hiring one group that can do it all. Q: Who is your singer? A: Patrice Hawthorne is our principal vocalist. Patrice has won talent shows like Showtime at the Apollo and VH1's Big Break hosted by Natalie Cole. She was also the lead female vocalist of the R&B group Peaches & Herb, who are best know for hits like Reunited and Shake Your Groove Thing. Now Patrice is available for your event. Q: What are your rates? A: It depends on several factors. Length of performing time, number of musicians, travel distance, time of year, day of week, etc. Please request a free quote. Q: How far in advance should be book you? A: For peak event months I suggest at least one year. We often will get over a dozen inquiries for the same date. Q: Do you accept last minute bookings? A: Yes, if we are available. Please check our calendar for specific availability. Q: Do you have a min number of musicians that are required to accept a booking? A: No. I can provide a soloist all the way up to a Big Band. Q: Do you have a song list and/or take requests? A: We know 100s of songs. We welcome requests and work very closely to come up with a set list that will meet your needs. Please check out our audio samples, they are just a small sampling of what we can do. Q: If I book you, will you provide us with a contract? A: Yes, absolutely. Q: The venue we are having our event at requires all vendors to have insurance, do you have any? We hired him and his friend, who played the bass, to play our wedding ceremony only. (I recommend hiring his friend for a little more depth with the music) We had a Beatles Theme for the wedding, and it was held in a huge outdoor garden. All the songs were Beatles, except for Here Comes the Bride. Tom was able to get all the music together in less than 3 weeks notice. We had them play "Here comes the sun" for the candle lighting ceremony. Since its a longer song and didn't want to stand to music very long, Tom made the suggestion to start softly playing the song while the preacher explained the meaning of the ceremony and then they increased the volume while we lit the candles. It turned out great. He was very professional. They dressed in dress pants, shirt, ties. We had many people compliment us on the ceremony music. Based on the choice of music, it gave the ceremony a very whimsical and romantic feel. Hiring Tom and his friend was one of the best decisions of the wedding and extremely affordable, too!"
