Make this special moment in your life truly unforgettable. Live music with Band of Gold makes your Wedding, Party, or other Special Event a memory that will last forever for you and your guests. Keep everyone entertained, amused and delighted with their favorite hits from the 30's thru the 90's and beyond! Wedding ... That one word speaks volumes, doesn't it? What could be a more special, 'special event' than your Wedding? Band of Gold was created especially for the purpose of playing music for Weddings. Even today, 90 percent of our business is still Weddings. We're proud of that and we love being able to play a part in that most singular of Special Occasions. Please include a note with your request, to contact me directly, Dale Brandt, to discuss the details of your Wedding Ceremony or Reception. You won't be disappointed! From the 'First Dance' through the dinner music, to the cake cutting and dancing the night away with family and closest friends, Band of Gold leads the competition in tasteful, elegant and exciting Wedding Entertainment. Your wedding is all about You! The Bride is the Star of the Show. Sorry Gents! Yes, you get to be 'King for a Day' but the Queen RULES on this day, so graciously accept being at her side and be her 'Best Supporting Actor.' It's a tough role but we're sure you can handle it. The Bride has a very tough job coordinating EVERYTHING for this once-in-a-lifetime event. Making your job easy when it comes to the entertainment is what Band of Gold is all about. Why choose Band of Gold? Well, for a number of reasons: One: We have fabulous performers. Our Bios are available on request. Two: We're here to entertain and make sure you and your guests have a wonderful time. Let us know about your favorite songs well in advance. Chances are we already know them. And if not, we can learn them. Three: Providing music for Weddings is our primary business; not a hobby. Band of Gold was started for the expressed purpose of playing music for Weddings over 10 years ago. And we've been going strong ever since. Four: All music is performed LIVE on stage, by the musicians on stage. Band of Gold does NOT use 'music sampling' 'prerecorded music' 'tracks' 'Band in a Box' or any other music emulator, as is so common today. When Band of Gold performs, you are hearing the actual musicians themselves. Five: We can learn any music you wish to have played at your Wedding Ceremony, or at the Reception. Six: We can also be your 'Master of Ceremonies' and conduct everyone through the events of your Reception so that everything goes smoothly. We've made a lot of people very happy over the past 10 years or so. References are available on request. The Entertainment is an essential part of your Reception, so make sure not to skimp in this area. You wouldn't hire your next door neighbor (you know; the one that grills those great hamburgers in the summer?) to cater the event; so why would you hire amateurs to play the music? Band of Gold has done hundreds of Weddings and we know just how to make yours come out great! Ninety percent of our business is Wedding Receptions and in fact Band of Gold was formed especially to play music just for Weddings. We like our job! What could be a better job than to stand in front of a room full of happy people and play beautiful love songs, ballads, and dance music? We can't think of one! A great story that illustrates the power of some of these ballads is the from the swing-era classic 'The Way You Look Tonight' by Dorothy Fields and Jerome Kern: This classic was originally sung by Fred Astaire to Ginger Rogers in a comic situation in the film 'Swing Time'; it won Dorothy and Jerome Kern the Best Song Oscar in 1936. Since then it's become one of the most beloved romantic songs of all time with numerous performers naming it as their personal favourite love song. Kern's contribution is of course a major part of this. Dorothy Fields said 'The first time Jerry played that melody for me I had to leave the room because I started to cry... I couldn't stop, it was so beautiful.' Dorothy Fields created a lyric of such perfect tenderness that it touches the listener every time words such as the following are heard: Someday, when I'm awfully low, When the world is cold, I will feel a glow just thinking of you And the way you look tonight. Robert Cushman wrote a wonderful essay about the song. Here's how he describes the continuation of the lyric after the first verse above: 'Then comes the masterstroke. 'Oh, but you're lovely ...'. That 'oh, but', deftly fitted by Fields to Kern's pick-up notes, forestalls any chance of the second eight bars being mere repetition. Disarmingly conversational, it also suggests uncertainty, inability to find words, a sense of how-could-you-be-so-lovely, and of 'lovely', though conventional (and more or less patented by Kern's contemporary; Irving Berlin), being the only possible word.' There's lots more where this stuff came from folks. We'd love to play it for you. Corporate Function•Reviewed on July 15, 2006•From Big Sky, MT

Band performed very well. However, leading up to the event, communication with the band was very poor. After the band committed to our event and deposit was received, I left several messages for a reply that we were still on for my event. It took a week and a half. Furthermore, the original drummer was committed to performing the day after my event. The band leader had the gull to ask me to pay for a flight to get him to that other event. When I told him no, he implied that my show would be less the their best. I suggested that the other event pay for his transportation. That it was not MY responsibility to fly him to an event that was not for me. Then he asked that I pay for a ticket from Denver to my event, so they could trade it in for the drummer to fly to the other event. I said no, and asked for a back-up drummer. I will never recommend this band to any other meeting planner. EVER!

Wedding•Reviewed on July 30, 2005•From Rapid City, SD

For this band to refer to themselves as a "Wedding Band" definitely leaves me puzzled. I guess maybe I expected to much, but when I think "Wedding Band", I think a band that will announce the bride and groom's first dance, a band that will get the crowd involved, a band that is happy to announce the wedding party, and a band that makes sure that SOMEONE is informed on what is going on (bride, bride's mom or dad, maid of honor, etc). However, what we got with Band of Gold was a bunch of empty promises and disappointment. To start things off, I hired Band of Gold not only to play at the reception, but also asked for Viv to sing at the ceremony and for the guitarist to play at the ceremony. Dale had told me the whole time that they would be at the rehearsal... but at the last minute, he let me know that they would not be there. That wasnot ideal for me, but it seemed okay, these guys were "professionals" so I figured that they could do it without much practice. Then the day of the wedding I got a call from Dale, I didn't get to the phone, so he left a message stating that the guitarist (yes the one that Dale brags about that has been in numerous magazines, etc.) was not going to be able to make it, he was sick. However, he assured me that everything would be okay because he had another band member that could sit in for the guitarist. What Dale did not tell me was that this was a keyboardist (not exactly the type of musical instruments I had pictured at MY wedding). Well...they show up for the ceremony and to say the least, they do not look very professional... I had another girl hired to sing other songs and she ended up playing the keyboard for the Band of Gold guy some of the time and she sung one of the songs that Viv was going to sing and the other one did not get sung at all! :(...they still got payed for this work. The reception was a different story, the first dance was supposed to be really funny... Dale had learned "Grow Old with You" by Adam Sandler...but noone even heard him announce the first dance and you could not hear the band well enough to even know what song they were singing. Dale came up to me at the beginning of the reception and apologized for the guitarist not being there...he said "we don't ahve a clue where he is" (well on the phone message earlier he said he was sick, so was he sick or lost...they did not even have their lies straight) I also talked with Dale at this time and gave him a list of my wedding party and asked him to announce them...he took the list, but the wedding party was never announced. The band only played a few songs and then would break for about 30 minutes. The songs that played during the breaks were horrible 80s songs and there were only like 8 songs...they just continued to replay and replay (Paula Abdul sticks out in my mind). Then to top it all off, I look up and the band is packing up... Dale had promised me that we would have a chance to have them stay longer if we needed them to. Anyways, one would think a band manager would make sure that the bride was aware that the music was ending. Erik (my husband) was very upset and asking what was going on, but my dad likes to keep the peace, so he just asked them how much money it would take for them to stay an hour longer. YEP...you guessed my dad payed them MORE just so they would stay longer....they never even did what had been promised! This band is totally unprofessional and the only regret I have when looking back on my wedding is having them play!! I always said I would have live music at my wedding, but after this, I wish I would have just had a DJ...it would have been cheaper and a hell of a lot more fun!

Band Of Gold:

I am quite surprised by this review because the feedback I got from the bride was very complimentary. After the wedding she sent me a card saying "Thank you so much for everything! You guys have been great!". A photocopy of the card mayed be viewed in the photo section of this website. We played everything we were asked to play and more, and stayed for an extra two hours. We did additional rehearsals above and beyond what we normally do in order to accomodate the bride's ever-changing requests for music, including requests for music two days before the event. Even though I had to pay the musicians for the extra rehearsals and the extra time at the gig, I didn'

Private Party•Reviewed on January 18, 2005•From Lakewood, CO

Band of gold's performance was very good. very professional in their demeanor as well as their looks. Their music covered a wide range of tastes. And everyone at the party had a great time and said that they enjoyed the band very, very much. I would hire them again if the need arose.
