Is this the man to fill Hal Holbrooks's shoes as Mark Twain? Read what audience members have to say about Roger Mallon and his one-man show “Here's Mark Twain": “I have seen Hal Holbrook's performance, and yours was much better.” “I just saw Hal Holbrook's performance in York last month and you were truly his equal.” “I think you surpass actor Hal Holbrook's characterization of Mark Twain. Most impressive.” I've seen a lot of Mark Twain “impersonators”; your act is light years ahead. “Nobody can replace the iconic Hal Holbrook,” said Mallon, “He invented the act and established the role of America's greatest author. Sadly, perhaps deservedly, Holbrook has retired, but audiences still demand performances by the nation's first superstar.” Roger Mallon is trying to fill those very big shoes. Here's Mark Twain” is a one-man show featuring performer Roger Mallon as Mark Twain, America's favorite 19th Century writer and humorist. Mallon's lively, often humorous program, emphasizes Twain's life and his views of people, travel and tolerance. “Here's Mark Twain” can be tailored for ticketed stage shows, banquets, school and library presentations, luncheons, meetings, fund raisers, meet-and greets, perfect for teens and adults, but not birthday parties or similar venues. A question/answer period follows most performances so audience members can learn more about Twain's life and share their personal “Twain” stories. Roger Mallon is a seasoned radio and television performer and producer, host of Roger Mallon's Fishin' Kitchen TV program and co-host of A Great Day Outdoors radio and television shows. Yakima, Washington Roger was brought to Yakima, WA for three performances over two days and received a very warm reception: "Hi Roger! I work for Union Gap, Washington Tourism, I was at the show here in Yakima, WA - we absolutely loved it! I posted photos and more on our Facebook page as well as the Central WA Ag Museum's page - we could have listened for hours more! It inspired us to watch a Mark Twain documentary shortly thereafter. I would like to have met you in person, but the opportunity just didn't present itself. Thanks so much for the wonderful performance!" Jeanne Sutton “Roger Mallon is great to work with. Complete with quick wit and dry humor, Roger connects quickly with any audience and appropriately changes his presentation to meet their needs and expectations. Mr. Mallon has great stage presence and crowd appeal. They even like his jokes.” Olde Yakima Letterpress Museum enthusiastically endorses Roger Mallon. Film Role Featured Role in “Life on the Mississippi: an independent film by award winning film maker, Bill Brown, University of North Carolina/ Duke University. Filmed in Hannibal, MO.
