Official MochaFest Dj “That Voice” Passionate Professional International Veteran Dj/Hypeman BookMochafest For almost 30 years, Dj Clubkilla "CK" 1, formerly known as Dj Chicken Chest in the 90's has been known in New York's thriving music culture and dance scene. Initially based on his own sound with partners, Child's Play Sound, CK1 branched out and has played an integral part on several other sounds. This versatile Dj has also hit the airwaves playing on FM Radio, Internet, Satellite Radio, and Television Broadcast. Throughout the years, Dj "CHICKEN CHEST" now known as Dj CK1, has grown into the "1" you can't forget, from his former stage name to the music he plays. In 2006 to 2008, CK1 and his Partner "Wicked" aired 3 times a week on 99.9fm/CaribbeanJamz.com, a New York based Radio and Internet station, with DJ personalities and artists from all over the globe working in the music and entertainment business. CK1, was raised in the Crown Heights and Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York; Born to a Costa Rican Father & Costa Rican/Jamaican Mother. Musically, CK1 grew up on Bob Marley and the Wailers, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaac, Lots of Oldies, Soul, Motown and some Latin. CK1 also grew up listening to sound systems out of America, Jamaica and England, like Addies, Afrique, Stone Love, Silverhawk, BodyGuard, Saxon, Coxsone, David Radigan, and many more. Nowadays, Dj CK1 is requested all over the world to bring music to the people. His first overseas booking was in 1991 in St. Croix, which started his love for internationally traveling and bringing his skills to the world. He has travelled to play private functions all across the Eastern States in the US. In 2014 his reach span to the Midwest when he was booked in Houston, Texas. Following his stint in Houston he was booked in North Carolina to provide musical entertainment at the launch and after party of a network show pilot. 2009 was the start of a love affair with DJaying on the island of Jamaica. Since then he has travelled to the island consistently to build camaraderie with DJs all over the island. In 2014 a solid partnership was formed with Mochafest, an Urban Beach Festival based out of Hedonism in Negril, Jamaica Since then he has been the resident DJ of Mochafest for the last 4 yrs. Also in the same year 2014, he returned to Hedonism, booked as the Dj for Erotic Xplosion. In 2015, he was booked to DJ in the land of his ancestors; Costa Rica. It was his most personal venture as he headed to Central America multiple times that year to engulf himself in his heritage and their music, an exotic blend of Dancehall and Latin music. Also in that year he became the resident DJ at internationally renowned Jamaican restaurant “Negril Village” in New York City. He is presently the resident DJ on Wednesday nights at Caligula, in NYC since 2016. Currently, 2018 has been a busy year for CK1 as he headed to Barbados for “Reggae on the Hill” where he did a private booking for local artist Scrilla. Next stop was Negril, Jamaica for Mochafest 2018. In June he headed to Ft Myers, Florida to kick off of his 2018 “Mixing Live” Tour where he Djayed for loyal promoter “Hot Gyal Promotions” who has booked him consistently for her annual party. The tour continued to make it's way north. Next stop was Caribana, in Toronto, Ontario, where he brought the latest and greatest music to the Canadian people. As CK1 makes his way towards Europe he has carved out his own path as he lays his foundation to become one of the culture's most known DJs, London is next. He will be hitting the roads at the Notting Hill Carnival for both days! The tour will continue as he heads to Cancun, Mexico for the inaugural launch of Mochafest Cancun, and will wrap up the tour all where it started, in Florida. The Ft. Lauderdale/ Miami area in November will be the last stop of 2018. CK1's work ethic, and ability to enchant a crowd has solidified his spot in the hearts of people all across the globe and it is safe to say he is well on the way to accomplishing his goal of “Bringing Music To The People.”
