Resilience, Leadership, Your Life by Design: Raised in poverty, with an abusive mother and alcoholic father, Joe grew up neglected, abused, confused and repressed. Joe knew something was not right. Joe was determined to understand the why's and how's in life. Why was there so much pain and suffering? How do I get out of this? Joe was labeled a slow learner and few friends at school. With a broken spirit and no one there to help, Joe was determined to show that he was not what his parent labeled him as, stupid, worthless, and insignificant. Joe graduated high school reading at a 5th grade level. His parents did not attend his graduation. Joe struggled and deciding not to listen to the voice in his head that repeated the words of his parents of worthlessness. He began college at age 22, putting himself through electrical engineering school debt free, going on to becoming a licensed master electrician and gaining his real estate license, he worked to become a successful real estate broker and real estate investor. He went on to travel the world and become a self-made millionaire by age 35. He learned flew both rotor craft (helicopters) and fixed wing (airplanes). But something was not right. All these achievements but that emptiness still lingered. the emptiness and loneliness deep down inside. The depression he had been fighting off returned...something was missing..... he began to fall with no one there, deeper and deeper into dis-spare.
