American soprano Chelsea Lehnea is known for her powerful artistry, fearless personality, and unique sense of style. Hausofshmizzay lauds her as “A voice that defies industrial conventions of fach” and the San Francisco Chronicle describes her singing as “an excellent combination of tenderness and vocal power.” Though she specializes in the operatic soprano repertoire, she performs in other genres such as Musical Theater, art song, jazz, and sacred music. In her career on the stage, she has performed as Musetta in “La bohème,” Elisabetta in "Maria Stuarda," Lucia in "Lucia di Lammermoor," Gilda in "Rigoletto," Donna Anna in "Don Giovanni," Sister Catherine in "Dead Man Walking," Woman at the Bar in "If I were you," Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair Lady," and in various concert performances around the country. She made her national debut as a soloist at President Obama's Presidential Inauguration in 2012 with the Lee University Festival Choir. She made her international debut as a member of the touring group Advent Now who toured Japan in 2012. She has been a soloist for Masterworks such as Mozart's Requiem, Handel's Messiah, and Haydn's Missa Brevis in F as well as presenting a solo recital dedicated to music by American composers. She has placed in regional and national vocal competitions such as the Sullivan Foundation Awards, the Loren L. Zachary Vocal Competition, the Premiere Foundation International Vocal Competition, the Jenny Lind competition, and the regional Met Opera Vocal Competition.. As well as her larger performanecs, she has also performed for numerous weddings, birthdays, church services, Christmas parties, and house concerts. She has a versatile voice with rich and soothing tone that can adapt to many different styles. She is available for weddings, parties, social events, house concerts, and soloist opportunities.
