Washington DC Wedding and Elopement Photographer - Kathleen Ricker is based in the DMV ( Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia) but photographs weddings and elopements all over the world. My couples have said my photography is a perfect mix of capturing moments and epic environmental portraits. I adjust my style to each couple's individual personalties and comfort level. I have been a wedding photographer since 2008 and I can still tell you a story from every one of the 500+ weddings I've photographed. The intimacy that I get to share with each couple. The unexpected moments. Watching stories, emotions, and moments unfold throughout the day. I watch for gentle touches between the two of you, nervous anticipation especially before you walk to the aisle, the intimate moments between close family members. I work with my couples to plan out carefully when and where we will do their portraits in advance being ever so conscientious to balance epic portraits with being able to give my couples a chance to live in their moment and get to enjoy portions of the cocktail hour and their entire reception. Weddings aren't the only thing I photograph. I am also an award-winning Wildlife Photographer. I take clients on tours to East Africa to trek with Gorillas and even to the North and South Poles to see penguins and polar bears.
