There are many responses to my performances, from "thank you" to "that was really beautiful" to "you made me cry" to "you've opened my heart so wide", and various others. I have been blessed to perform in Italy and many places across the United States; I received the accolade of "Inspirational Song of the Year" for a song that received international airplay on radio; I've created solo performances on stage and in house concerts as well as ensemble performances with world-class musicians and vocalists, and done multiple musical interpretations of all types of poetry read to live audiences. In November, 2016, I was honored to open at a special event on the big stage in Carnegie Hall, the realization of a life-long dream. As I finished playing, the standing ovation I received told me that the music I'd just created for the very first time had indeed made a difference for all in attendance. My repertoire of "background music" includes 1930's through contemporary pop tunes, Broadway melodies, romantic songs (some of which I've written), and improvisations as I did in Carnegie Hall. In addition to playing for weddings, receptions, and private parties, and as an accompanist for vocalists, I also write custom songs for all occasions. These arise from meaningful conversations with the individuals (either engaged couples or individuals who are requesting a birthday, graduation or anniversary song for themselves or as a gift for someone) from which I create the lyrics and music. Sheet music and/or a recording of the song, depending upon their wishes, are then made available. My passion and forte is creating beautiful music "in the moment". Many couples have allowed me to do this as a prelude for their wedding ceremony while their guests are being seated. When there is a slideshow being presented during this time, I often watch that and create music out of the energy of all the pictures. These improvisations are a very special, unique feature that creates a "one of a kind" experience for everyone present.
