KIT TAYLOR is a six-time indie award-winning pianist, songwriter, and DJ currently based in Portland, Oregon.

Kit has trained under platinum-selling songwriter Marv Ross (Quarterflash); engineer and producer Bob Stark (Esperanza Spalding, Pink Martini), who has worked on three Grammy award winning albums; keyboardist George Mitchell (Diana Ross, Obama White House); and Tom Blaylock, who has taught voice to some of the most influential names in Broadway today.

Most recently Kit released the first official single, called "Lately (Time Stops For You", from his upcoming solo pop/AC album. The song features longtime Michael Jackson guitarist Jennifer Batten, and currently has over 50,000 views on Facebook and YouTube.
 
In early 2017, Kit was awarded 'Outstanding Achievement In Songwriting' in the Adult Contemporary category of the Great American Song Contest for his song "Bestill My Heart", the first publicly released track from his upcoming solo pop/AC album, due in Spring of 2018. 

Currently Kit performs regularly at venues such as the historic Benson Hotel, Portland City Grill, and Multnomah Athletic Club; jazz staples like Arrivederci and the club formerly known as Jimmy Mak's, as well as for countless churches and corporate and private events. He also regularly does session work on piano and background vocals, and produces new artists at his studio just outside of Portland, OR, as well as over the cloud. 

From 2003-2013 Kit played with the soul/pop band Intervision. The group was co-founded by Kit along with college classmate Paul Creighton (The Motet), Mike Glidden, Jon Barber, and Tony Stovin, and over the years featured those five, along with other musical all-stars Paul Mazzio (Nu Shooz), Willie Matheis (Cherry Poppin' Daddies), and Damian Erskine (Gino Vinelli, Peter Erskine). The band toured the country, was featured on the front page of the Oregonian, sold out the Aladdin Theater multiple times, and shared the stage with groups such as Lifehouse, The Neville Brothers, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Tyrone Wells, Vicci Martinez ("The Voice), Justin Hopkins ("The Voice), Jarrod Lawson, Geoff Byrd (Hall & Oates), and many others.

In 2008 Kit and Intervision won the International Independent Music Award in the category of 'Best R&B Song' for the track "Live Out Loud" off their sophomore album "Shades Of Neptune". That album and others were produced and engineered by both Bob Stark (see top) and Dean Baskerville (Sheryl Crow). In the same year, the song was also chosen as a finalist in the JLSC (John Lennon Songwriting Contest).

Other career highlights include a west coast tour with platinum pop artist AWOLNation; photoshoots with David Bergman (Bon Jovi, Barack Obama inauguration panorama) and Craig Mitchelldyer (Sports Illustrated, Portland Trail Blazers, Portland Timbers); and sharing the stage with the likes of cellist Dave Eggar (Phillip Phillips, Evanescence), members of Live, Kansas, and Blessed Union Of Souls, and multiple artists featured on hit TV shows like NBC's 'The Voice' and FOX's 'American Idol'.

Kit Taylor was exceptional! He came prepared to our ceremony and performed beautifully. His song list for our reception was perfect, and exactly what we were looking for on our special day. He was prompt, courteous, and very entertaining in a way that was befitting of our vision for the event. I would recommend Kit to friends/relatives looking for a pianist for their event.

Kit was amazing for our Nov 20,2010 wedding! He was very quick with responding to me and was able to accommodate every request I made, even after changing my mind numerous times of what I wanted! Everyone commented at the event how amazing his music was, he was flawless and his voice sounded great! We were so impressed with him from the start, he was really on top of getting back to me, being flexible with each request and open to playing anything we wanted! At the event, he was punctual, well dressed, professional and his performance was even better than we could have imagined! I would use him again and would definitely recomend him to friends!   

Kit was professional, personable and very talented on piano.  He was happy to play whatefver guests requested and tolerated our singing along.  I was completely satisfied with the performance.  I would hire him again and I would recommend him to others as well.
